Stiletto Media Sponsor Highlight: Go Red Por Tu Corazon

Go Red Por Tu Corazon
Today’s spotlight showcases a non-profit organization that is near and dear to my own heart (see below video). As a Spokeswoman for Go Red For Women and  Go Red Por Tu Corazón, I am excited to announce Stiletto Media’s collaboration with Go Red at the Kick Off Your Heels event in San Diego!  The Go Red Por Tu Corazón movement builds on Latinas strong ties to family, food and cultural traditions while promoting a heart-healthy lifestyle, through healthy eating and physical activity.

Go Red, created by the  American Heart Association (AHA) in 2004, was established to help the thousands of women affected by heart disease on a yearly basis. The numbers of women affected by heart disease is staggering.  Sadly, Hispanic women, like myself, are likely to develop heart disease 10 years earlier than Caucasian women.

At Stiletto Media, we want women to know that heart disease can be prevented. In fact, 80 percent of cardiac events in women are linked to poor choices, involving diet, physical activity and smoking. Women also tend to put others needs before their own, sacrificing their health in the process. To change this, women must make different choices, including putting themselves and their health at the forefront.

Kick Off Your Heels attendees will be able to do just that on August 5, 2011. They’ll be able to unwind, get a massage, dance and mingle! The endorphins created that night will help attendees kick start their own heart healthy lifestyles! So make sure you leave a message on the Go Red Por Tu Corazón Facebook page telling them thank you for sponsoring more attendees to the event!
